Next week is Valentine’s Day! Feel the love! At the end of each class there will be a quick valentine game accompanied by a valentine treat. If your child enjoys making and preparing valentines for friends this is their chance! It is entirely optional but feel free to get paper crazy! If you want to personalize the valentine’s shoot me an email at lindi@studiofortestl.com for a list of the kids in the class.

Did you know Studio Forte has a boys class? Here is a picture of them after their rehearsal on Friday. Gus, Will, Micha and Jesse! They are some awesome guys…but I *am* biased

Here is Ruthie Johnson doing things a little different. Every week the students get a stamp on their hand if they have listened and tried their hardest. So I can really get a good stamp I ask the kids to put their hand on top of their head so I have something to push down on. It has become tradition to shut your eyes reeeeally tight so there won’t be any chance of seeing what the stamp might be.

Hello parents!
As you have probably noticed this blog has not been active since May of 2010. There were several reasons for this that I won’t go into but now the blog is BACK! Check this space for information as well fun and frivolous post that gives you glimpse into what goes on at Studio Forte! Enjoy!
So Jess Dewes (photographer/dance mommy extradordinaire) took some really fun shots at the dance recital and shared them with me. I thought you all needed to see them too. Check them out…
Okay okay. So this is Carnagie Hall.
And there are probably a thousand people in this picture.
But you get the idea. Lets try to recreate this for the kids on April 30th! Invite all your family and friends! There is no limit to how many people you can bring! It is so much fun for the kids to have a big an enthusiastic audience to watch all their hard work! And don’t forget it is FREE! Absolutely no admission fee. I will have save the date cards for kids next week to pass out to everybody.
Here I am. Back with more details about the upcoming recital! There are exactly 33 more days (counting weekends) until the big event and I am getting excited!
Recital fee: The recital fee will be the same as last year: $45 per student. This fee includes the rental and usage of our beautiful auditorium and two hand made costumes. You can pay this anytime between now and the recital (if you need later, let me know) and in any form. If it is easier for you to break it up into seperate payments, you can do that too. Whatever works best for you!
Picture day: Picture day will be on Tuesday, April 27th. Come to the studio to pick up your completed costumes and take a group or solo picture. There is no pressure to order pictures. We ask that parents do not take pictures in the photo area to ensure quality pictures for the professional photographer that will be there. Please make it a priority to be there for for the sake of the rest of the group and so I can have all my kiddos up on my wall at the dance studio

Last week Miss Lindi made her way down to Dallas, TX to shop for costume material! Take a look at these pictures from fabric wonderland. Yards and yards and yards of material to choose from at a discounted rate! Miss Lindi and her Mom had fun picking out yardage for all these cute girls and their dances!
Announcing the First Annual Shoe Swap for Studio Forté!
You won’t want to miss this event if you need new dance shoes for your child for summer dance class! The swap will be held at Crossroads Presbyterian Church in the Fellowship Hall on Saturday, May 15, from 9-12. (Crossroads is located on the other side of Shop N Save from Studio Forte, at the corner of Manchester and Oakview Terrace.) This is strictly a swap; all shoes will be donated and given out free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. Please plan to drop off unwanted shoes ahead of time so that they can be sorted and arranged for the swap. You can drop off shoes at Studio Forte before April 30, at the April 30 Spring Recital, or at Miss Lindi’s house 7329 Lohmeyer Ave. St. Louis MO 63143 during the first two weeks of May. Please donate shoes that are in good condition and can be worn by another child. (No mis-matched pairs or ballet shoes with holes!) Donation of unwanted shoes is requested, but not required. If you are new to dance this summer, please feel free to come and find shoes for your child. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that if you donate a pair of shoes, you will be able to find a new pair for your child. But the more families that participate, the greater the pool of shoes! Miss Lindi will keep all shoes that are leftover from the swap and will have them available for swapping during the year as shoes are outgrown, and also to add to next year’s swap. There will be plenty of room, so please feel free to bring your child with you to try on shoes, as sizes tend to wear off the shoes over time. Please take only one pair of each kind of shoe (tap, ballet, etc.) per child so that there will be enough for everyone.
